Shares of F are trading lower this morning as investors continued to push the market lower on fears that the recovery of the global economy could get tripped up by debt troubles in Europe. For people who ACTUALLY do intraday trading… NO SPAMMING of "me too" or "I dono" statements PLEASE!!.

Would any of you traders out there know of any sound brokerage firms which are located in Singapore or Canada which provide live and streaming intraday charts accompanied with live and streaming data – such as Average True Range, Volume, Candlesticks (which can be tuned to ex. 5min/candle)?

I want to know how the stock market really works in terms of:

1. Investors Buying & Selling shares; how does the trading volume, here, of individual buys & sells affect a company’s stock price?

2. How can you tell how many people/investors are buying or selling a company’s stock in order to go long or short and put the odds in your favour – is there any specific technical analysis indicator that can tell you this, or what else can?

3. How does news affect stock prices?

Could you suggest a stock technical analysis software that fits me?

I’m looking for a software with all the common technical analysis indicators, that easily loads up data for any given stock on the NASDAQ or NYSE.

Like if I put in a ticker, and specify the indicators I want, I’d like the software to show me where the indicator stands for each trading day. Also, I don’t know if this is possible, but it’d be a tremendous help if the software has some sort of scanner that I could tell to scan for stocks that have had a certain indicator ranging from x to y for the past z number of days or something like that.

Any suggestions?

I need to know what is the market? really…. what is the characteristics of the market alone? Not necessarily the economy… who can point me to someone who knows… really… i’d pay for it….. i need to fucking know….Ok here’s the questions… well i’ll make a statement… I need to know how to stock market works… not some bullshit regurgitated information…. who controls price movement… i know it’s a bidding process.. but how much of the money is from large scale investors,(institutional) and how might they control price? what is the most widely used indicator? for people who are sucesfull in the market… what works for you? do you use technical indicators? do you try to guage the mood of the market on a particular day? Do you look at company fundamentals? I’ve been trading etf’s such as spy, vxx, and gld…. so i’ve been watching how people place their money on their idea of overall market movement…. any ideas here… i’m stuck.

Thanks for looking. I am 25 in college for mechanical engineering and also working. I am interested in day trading one day. I hear that people will borrow for their trades leverage I believe, first thing……..I would never gamble loaned money. But I have used freestockcharts.com which provides a live feed of stocks and has many useful indicators. I have used it maybe 10 days where I just sat and paper traded. I profited all but 1. Averaging about 5-6% profit daily. I don’t konw if thats much…….I like technical analysis as my main tool.

I just feel like if I saved up 50,000, I could try and get started. If I were to continue to paper trade and continue to profit daily,

I could make 3 1% trades a with day 10000 for each. walk out with 300 and invest it the next day. If i continued I would be making profit off of profit in no time. It would be compounding interest at 3% daily. with a few bad days i am sure

It sounds to good to be true and I’m sure it is….I just don’t see how I wouldn’t be able to do that. Also what do you think of the site Im using…Is it even legit as far as the "live" charts

Good info sources for GBP/JPY?

I trade the GBP/JPY, and have fantastic technical indicators already set up. However, I still need some good sources that might point out "the mood" surrounding this pair on any given trading night. I already use Forex Factory, and sometimes go to Bloomberg.com, but I’ve found that Bloomberg is not a great source of info for either of these two currencies.

Does anyone know where I can get good info on the Pound and/or Yen? I only speak English and Spanish, so sites in Japanese won’t do me much good.

Why the 95% of Forex traders loosing money instead of making money?

Im studying Forex, and i have the practice program 5 days now, im reading and daily i make virtually almost 4000$ and im loosing more than i make.
So, my humble logic says, learn more, and learn to make only the good trades and not the bad ones.
So, I read books, online stuff etc etc, in 4 days i learn about candlesticks, MACD, Histogram, trading pairs,other technical indicators, pips, leverage, spreads, and so many other things, and I also learn that i have to practice at least a month or two! before i even think to make a trade with real money!
and i see clearly that i need to practice because i really don;t earn money, not even with fake money!
my losses are bigger from my profits!
so, the next logical step is to practice until i will make more profits than losses with the virtual money!

so, how come, that simple thing people don;t follow it and go and loose their money?
at least if vitrually after a month i still loose money, i will not trade my real money and i will have forex as a nice game!
i will be a happy person!
but if i see that i make money , i continue and see how im doing.
I believe that a medium trader should make more than 65% of winnings and a 35 of losses.
My personal goal is to 70 up to 80% success!

What does the volume indicator mean in the yahoo finance chart?

Under the technical indicator on the top blue bar, there is an option to display the volume. It states that the volume is:

"Volume is the number of shares traded in a security during a given period of time."

What does this exactly mean? Does this refer to the number of shares sold or bought during that day?

Need Help on MetaTrader4 Far As Forex Trading?

Last Friday, I have money invested in Dollar VS Euro. I choose dollar over Euro because of the average indicator and other technical indicator showing that the Euro currency is weakening.

I put 0 on Sell in US/Euro, the Euro value went against me and I have about -0 in my current trade. However, I figured that eventually I can leave the trade alone for the weekend.

Last Monday, I look into my account and noticed that I have a -0. The Euro was more weaker and that my prediction was correct. However, why was I been marked as -9.60 leaving me to pay the broker for the -0.04 that I owed.

What I also noticed that there is a Swap penalty but I need to know more about it. Why am I being charged with Swap penalty and could that be the reason why I lost money?

I have been trading for about 8 years now but only in Bullish Markets. I am by all rights a short term Swing Trader or 5 to 10 day plays. I understand that there are no "holy grails" for trading but on the technical side of things is there a proven indicator or group of indicators that seem to work well. I have a back scanner program to test any ideas. I am only at this point in time looking for short side as I am very comfortable with the Long side.
